Joseph Smith provides instructions to help the Saints prepare for the future temple endowment and other sacred temple ordinances which were coming. These instructions to those early Saints can help us better understand the power and the blessings that are available to us as we participate in those same sacred ordinances today.
Also, Section 132 is a revelation on eternal marriage and the crowing blessings that are available to those who are faithful and obedient to the laws and commandments of Heavenly Father. Plus, I share a couple of insights to the early practice of polygamy.

Hi. I just listened to your story As Sisters In Zion. You only had part of the story. The mother of the five children was Martha Campkin. Her husband,a shoemaker, caught malaria and died in St. Louis. She made her way to where the saints were gathering to go west. Capt. Willie didn’t want to take her because she was single with five children. He assigned the Hill sisters to help her. The three of them pulled their handcart.
As time went on one of the sisters got really sick. She couldn’t walk anymore. So Martha and the other sister left her at the side of the road and pulled the handcart into camp. They would feed and bed down the children. The two women would then go back and pick up the waiting sister and carry her back to camp in their handcart. They did this day after day until she was well.
My great grandmother was two years old. Her mother was Martha Campkin. The song is about what she and the sister did to save the sick sister. I have the story the missionaries gave me at the center at 6th crossing. My g grandmother who was two walked a lot of the way on foot as I was told. I would be happy to send you a copy of this story.
Thanks so much for your broadcasts. I have learned so much.
