Jesus taught us the higher law to help us become more like Him. Even today, He is revealing how we can become for like Him through our everyday lives. In recent years, the Church has done away with some “old ways” and introduced some “new ways” – all of which help point us to Him.

What can two women teach us about our relationship with the Savior? Mary’s council, and the example of the woman at the well, teach us everything we need to know!

How can the Lord’s ministry over 2,000 years ago be personal for us today? I believe the story of the “temptations” of the Lord proves what he can do for us, if we let him. Plus, he provides a perfect roadmap for us to navigate our daily lives.

This week in our Come Follow Me reading, we learn more about John the Baptist and the Savior’s baptism. But John’s work would continue in 1829 when he appeared to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery. Also, Mark’s description of the calling of the original Apostles lays a perfect blueprint for how we can individually come closer to Christ.

John teaches us that if we receive the Savior we will have His power, and become His sons and daughters. Receiving the Savior and obtaining these promised blessings is available to all of us. This doctrine is taught through the story of a widowed handcart pioneer.
