D&C 81-83: Beyond Come Follow Me
D&C 77-80: Beyond Come Follow Me
These four revelations come at a very trying time for Joseph Smith personally. He recently had to fend off the verbal attacks from Ezra Booth. Soon after, he was tarred and feathered. A few days later, he and Emma would bury another child right before Joseph left on a mission to Missouri. The words of comfort, and promises given from the Lord must have been particularly meaningful to Joseph at this time of his life.
D&C 76: Beyond Come Follow Me
In “The Vision”, the Lord personally taught Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon the Plan of Salvation. This was no ordinary “revelation”, for the Lord stood before them, and showed them the eternities. This week, I share the stories leading up to the experience, how it came to be, and the aftermath. Most importantly, I think Section 76 is a blueprint for how we can receive personal revelation.
D&C 71-75: Beyond Come Follow Me
Ezra Booth is causing problems in Ohio by publishing untrue articles in the newspaper about Joseph Smith and the Church. The Lord reveals to Joseph how to combat these negative narratives by establishing a pattern for combating enemies of the Church. Section 73 reveals the results of doing things the Lord’s way. I also share the miraculous conversion and mission stories of Joseph’s little brother Samuel Smith.
