I love Psalms! There are so many verses in these chapters that teach us about Christ and the potential relationship we can have with him. And, there is one verse which made me think of the coming forth of the Book of Mormon so I have included many stories from church history surrounding that miraculous event.

In this week’s episode of Beyond Come Follow Me, I highlight three verses from this week’s reading which demonstrate the character of Christ, and what we must do to receive his promised blessings. Plus, I share a few relevant stories from Church History.

John Tanner is a modern day Job. He had everything, then gave everything to the Lord. Later, when the trials came, he continued to stay faithful to the Lord. Through a few miracles, and John’s generosity, the Lord preserved the Kirtland Temple. Like Job, John stands as an example of “running to the Lord” when trials come our way.

Esther’s courage to do what is right, regardless of the outcome, is a powerful example of courage. We are often faced with decision in which we need the courage to just do what is right.

As we study the building of the temple in Jerusalem, it gives us a chance to examine the blessings of the temple in our own lives. Plus, I share some stories from the building of the Kirtland Temple.
